If you've spent time and money grading your trading cards, you know the next challenge: displaying them properly. Generic acrylic cases scratch easily, crack, or simply don't do justice to a PSA 10. Whether you collect Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh!, or One Piece, custom slab cases built specifically for graded TCG cards are the standard for serious collectors — here's what to look for and why it matters.
What makes a slab case "custom"?
A custom slab case is designed to fit graded card slabs (PSA, BGS, CGC, TAG) precisely — no rattling, no pressure on the slab edges. Many are made to order with specific artwork, character themes, or collector branding built into the design. Whether your prized card is a Pokémon SAR, a Magic: The Gathering Black Lotus, or a Dragon Ball Z first edition, a custom case presents it the way it deserves.
How many slabs should a display case hold?
It depends on your collection goal. Single-slab display cases are ideal for showcasing a centerpiece card. Multi-row cases (3-row, 4-row) work better for full set displays, character collections, or multi-TCG displays spanning Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Magic.
Are custom slab cases worth it over generic options?
For a collection you've invested hundreds or thousands of dollars into — yes. A purpose-built case protects the slab from UV light, dust, and impact while presenting it the way it deserves to be seen. This applies whether your slabs are PSA, BGS, CGC, or TAG graded.
Do 5/14 Apparel cases fit all grading slabs?
Yes — 5/14 Apparel's custom slab cases are built to accommodate all major grading slabs including PSA, BGS, CGC, and TAG, as well as graded cards with guards. Whether you collect Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Dragon Ball Z, or Yu-Gi-Oh!, each case is made to hold your slabs securely without rattling or damage.
